Welcome to Harbour Pictures
Harbour Pictures was originally set up as the film production arm of ABTV Ltd (now Harbour Pictures Holdings Ltd). The company commenced feature film development and production in 1999 with the commissioning of a script for Calendar Girls. Harbour Pictures was then approached by Buena Vista International UK to finance the development, production and distribution of Calendar Girls.
In 2000, Harbour Pictures negotiated the rights to The Kinky Boot Factory and struck a deal with Buena Vista for the development and production of this film as well as Calendar Girls. With both films now in development, a first look deal with Buena Vista was negotiated in the spring of 2001. Harbour Pictures Television signed a development and distribution deal with Portman Film and TV in September 2007, and also has a DVD output deal with 2Entertain.
Calendar Girls starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, was filmed in the summer of 2002, and was released worldwide in 2003/2004. Calendar Girls became the 7th highest grossing British film ever in the UK, with over £20 million at the UK box office and aproximately $100 million internationally.
